Being a Senior

Hello! Have you catch up the latest news about Influenza A, H1NI? We need to be alert about this virus since ‘prevention is better than cure’. Okay, enough with that. This time I will post an entry about being a senior. As you all know, I am currently in the third semester at UiTM Johor. Therefore, I am a senior to the students who are in the second and first semester. When we talk about senior, the first thing that the people mentioned must be a senior that bullying the junior. However, being a senior is not a bench mark for all of us to shoe to everyone that we are a senior and everyone need to follow our rules or order. Indeed, being a senior can also be defined as we need to tolerate with others especially to our junior. Therefore, they can have some respects to us and we can tolerate with each other.

We cannot deny that there must be a gap between a senior and junior. If there is no gap, there will be a certain cases such as junior is being rude to the senior. For the senior, good attitude need to be shown to the junior, so they can understand and felt comfortable living in a college. Not enough with that, we need to be concern about the junior especially when we get a junior as our roommates. They need to be taught about certain things that they may do not know. In fact, we need to have patience when dealing with all of them since they are newcomers. As a senior, we need to remember that our real motives are to study and get excellent results. Therefore, we need to treat each other nicely.

However, there is some specialty of being a senior. When we are living at college, we need to follow or participate in any activities that were organized. As a tradition, the junior need to participate in all of the activities that require them to give full commitment and attentions. Otherwise, they did not get the college for the next semesters. For the senior, they still need to participate in the activity but they can be either audience or the candidates itself. It cannot be categorized as bully since everyone had their times during they were called junior. From the other side, we can see this as a chance for a junior to tolerate with the senior. Apart from that, the junior can get to know each other among them.

Lastly, we need to remember that we are used to be a junior before. Therefore we need to understand their feelings and did not take any actions that can cause chaos or trouble such as bully. I believe that the junior and senior can get along with each other if there is some toleration and understanding between each other. A good student will not involve in any kind of discipline problem whether it is at the inside or outside the college. Enough for this entry, we will meet again at the next entry!
